WHAT'S ON OFFER

 

The Club organises several annual events and supports shows and fairs. There are also touring runs for members to join in and visits, for example to car manufacturer’s factories. The monthly Club Nights are popular as is the colour magazine which covers a wide variety of matters of interest to the old car enthusiast.

 Spring Run and Treasure Hunt


Normally arranged on the FBHVC “Drive It Day” in April. This is a popular run around the Wirral fini
shing for lunch. The next event is on Sunday 17th. April 2011. This is an informal day to enjoy your classic with the option of a separate Treasure Hunt not a part of the drive. All classic car enthusiasts are welcome at the finish.

Wirral Classic Car Show

On the third Sunday In May is the Wirral Classic Car Show, held at Thurstaston on the camping field near to the Visitors Centre off Station Road, which is off the A540 opposite the Cottage Loaf pub. This is the largest annual gathering of local classic car enthusiasts. Entrants must arrive between 10.30 and be in place no later than 12 noon to enter. There are four classes based on  age of manufacture - Pre-war, Historic (1941 to 1972), Classic (1973 to 1990) and Modern Classic (Post 1990). There are other prizes for members’ cars, including the annual restoration award and mileage trophy for the annual mileage award. This is an optimum time to join Wirral Classic Car Club.

The Wirral Historic Vehicle Rally takes place towards the end of July each year and is a very popular Touring Assembly, strictly limited to a maximum 100 pre-entered cars first manufactured prior to 31 December 1972 and to period specification, divided into classes by date of manufacture, which are described in over 2,500 event programmes distributed free to the public from the 1st. July. Entrants receive a quality memento of the event.

The event comprises a morning run, lunch stop and a finish stop and thousands of people line the roads of Wirral to wave at the cars. Judging is on a "pride of ownership" basis" and entrants are encouraged to wear period attire appropriate to the age of their vehicle and to display information about their entry at the stops that will be of interest to the public. The event is supported by Wirral MBC and has other sponsors and advertisers. You can download an entry form below and the event is open to non members up to the set limits.

Wirral Historic Vehicle Rally Entry  Form

         

In September the South Wirral Gordale Run is a touring assembly around South Wirral and Cheshire for cars manufactured prior to 31st. December 1980 to period specification. Spaces are limited, but some places are available to non members of WCCC and a, non WCCC member's, entry form can be downloaded below. There are complimentary beverages, quality mementoes and a prize of free classic car insurance, for which all accepted entries are eligible, subject to the terms and conditions set out in the pdf file below. Entrants are encouraged to dress in appropriate period attire.

 WCCC has Club Stands at shows and provides lists of shows and events of interest to members. Touring Days are undertaken both at weekends and mid week as well as Visits to car factories, car museums etc. Details of these events are published in the current Club magazine.
